squid_all_children_busy

Event short description: squid_all_children_busy

This event happens when the log watcher detects squid cache has all redirector children processes blocked/working, causing all new incoming requests to be queued, causing connecting users to experiment connection problems.

Resolution

In the case this event is detected, you must check that this is not something momentary to avoid applying configurations that will not be used under normal situations. For example, it could be interesting to check if all children processes are in fact blocked not because a system limitation but because certain users are triggering too many requests.

So see current requests you can use Internet Access Manager panel to show them (on the left side options tree). There is also an option to show current access stats.

After checking all this information, if you still need to increase children processes, get into the Internet Access Manager, click on Options → Configure → Proxy configuration → increase child redirector processes → then click on save and configure
